Hoping for a better year
Saturday, December 31st, 2005Happy New Year! hehehe, 2006 na ang bilis. to be honest, i really don’t feel like it’s a new year. mas mukha kasing fresh na number kasi sa akin ang ‘5′ kaysa ‘6′, pero its really because 2005 for me was sort of a prelude of the changes that will arrive or that i will make for the next few years. changes in my life, in my attitude or in my personality. well, everyone of us has to move on and reach new levels or new heights of living life to its fullest, at least yung effort to live life as such, everyone including me.
i wasn’t able to post any entry for the entire december 2005 dahil sobrang busy sa work, and mga social obligations, mga gimiks here and there, buti nga lang di naubos savings ko by the time new year na.
niwei, gusto kong i-post itong lyrics ng Fields of Gold, a Sting original which a female singer by the name of Eva Cassidy did a wonderfully trancing rendition in 1998, and whose CD turned gold three years later. when i first heard it sa Jam, napanganga ako in my mind, sobrang ganda ng rendition, for me i think its the best cover of a song ever, siguro close second ang soundtrack ng I Am Sam and ng tribute sa Carpenters.
well here it is:
You’ll remember me, when the west wind moves
Among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in it’s jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
So she took her love for to gaze a while
Among the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold
Will you stay with me, will you be my love
Among the fields of barley
And you can tell the sun in it’s jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
I never made promises lightly
There’ve been some that I’ve broken
But I swear in the days still left
We will walk in fields of gold
We’ll walk in fields of gold
Many years have past, since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
As you lie in fields of gold
You’ll remember me when the west wind moves
Among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in it’s jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
